Vinnie stopped by Mr. Hamilton’s office today to make sure everything is on schedule for the start of the school year! 🏫📚 After checking in, Mr. Hamilton assured him that everything is on track and we’ll be ready to welcome our Vikings on the very first day of school! The countdown is on—we can’t wait to Celebrate Learning with all of our students and families! 💙💛

The countdown is on, and he can’t wait to welcome all of his new and returning buddies back to school for another amazing year! This year’s elementary theme is Celebrate Learning, and we can’t wait to celebrate every achievement, every milestone, and every student throughout the year! 🎉📚 📅 Mark your calendars! Last night, Vinnie had the sweetest dream. 🌙💭 He dreamed of laughing with old friends, meeting brand-new buddies, and seeing one special place where no one ever has to feel alone—the Buddy Bench. 🪑❤️ Our Buddy Bench is a place where students can sit if they’re looking for a friend to play with, someone to talk to, or a classmate to include them. When other students see someone on the Buddy Bench, they know it’s an invitation to show kindness, offer friendship, and make sure everyone feels included. Vinnie can’t wait to see all the new friendships that will begin this year. Who knows? Maybe one simple invitation to play will become a lifelong friendship.💙💛 #VikingProud #BuddyBench

Congratulations to Scott King, Shane Beck, Madelyn Burke and Cheyanne Beck who participated in the Cambria County Camp Cadet Program last week. They were 4 out of 42 students who were selected to participate. Shane Beck received an award for most athletic cadet, and Scott King received an award for most improved cadet. We are Viking Proud of you! 💙💛

It's a Beautiful Day in Flinton so Vinnie decided to take a break from the screen and get outside. Did you know... “Just 20–30 minutes of outdoor play each day can make a big difference in a child’s physical health, mood, creativity, and overall well-being. Remi and Vinnie along with Sammy and Lennox are enjoying their Summer reading a good book. Even 10 minutes of daily reading has been shown to improve reading fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, and overall academic achievement over time. Send your child's photo to Mrs.Williams, jwilliams@gsd1.org for a Golden Coin for our book vending machine when we return. They will also be our featured readers on Facebook and our website. 💛💙

The Glendale Junior High Football team is seeking more players. They need at least 14 to have a season! If anyone in the district has a child going in to 7th or 8th grade that is interested in playing football this season, please call the high school office and they will direct you to the correct person. 💙💛

Vinnie the Viking is getting ready to Cheer on a new school year with a few of our cheerleaders! Great cheerleaders are made in the off-season, where consistent practice builds stronger skills, greater confidence, better teamwork,and the discipline needed for success! 💙💛 #vikingproud

You might wonder what Vinnie the Viking does during the Summer without students. Today he decided to help out our elementary maintenance with some desk repair. A huge shout out to our maintenance crews working hard on our buildings. Stay tuned tomorrow to see where Vinnie's travels take him. Remember the 1st Day is right around the corner! #vikingproud

What are you reading? These students are enjoying a good book even at the beach! Remi and his sister Roxi enjoyed reading about the Dog Days of Summer. Send a picture of your child reading a book this Summer in their favorite spot for a Book Vending Golden Coin when we return. Students will be featured on our website and Facebook. Reading can take you on adventures you may never get a chance to experience!

Congratulations to Daniel Williams, Cameron Dreibelbis, and Logan Skebeck as they represented Glendale School District in the Lezzer Lumber All Star Game Friday Night at Mifflin County High School! Chase Hill and Matt Irvine were the North's Coaches and Jeff Peachman was the athletic trainer. Daniel Williams was 1 of 12 $500 Scholarship Winners. The North won 16-6 and they each helped play a key role in the win. 💛💙🏈
