Yo, Glendale, let’s kick it!
Ice, ice, baby, too much is on the street!
Buses can’t roll, so we’re callin’ defeat.
Slip and slide? Nah, we don’t play—
School’s shut down, enjoy your virtual day!
The Glendale School District will be utilizing a Flexible Instructional day for Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025.

Mother Nature is feeling a little extra frosty so the Glendale School District is starting with a 2-hour delay for Thursday, February 6, 2025 due to predicted icy conditions. While we love a good skating rink, we prefer our buses and cars not to skate on the ice. Stay cozy, do a little ice dance (or an anti-ice dance, your call), and keep an eye out for a possible FID update in the morning.

Congratulations to our district Spelling Bee Winners.
1st Place- Gracie Peacock
2nd Place- Briley Farster
3rd Place- Inara Bowman (not shown)

Congratulations to Mason Eckenrode who signed with Mount Aloysius to play soccer and continue his education!

Reminder: The Glendale School District will be utilizing a Flexible Instructional Day on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. There will be no in-person school. Stay safe, cozy and watch Frozen!

Mother Nature continues to perform the musical “Frozen.” Olaf said it is even too cold for snowmen! Stay warm, complete your virtual or paper packet classwork, and enjoy a nap! The Glendale School District will be utilizing Flexible Instructional Days for Tuesday, January 21 and Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

Attention Glendale Winter Vikings! The roads need a little more time to defrost, so we’re on a 2-hour delay for Friday, January 17, 225. Enjoy the extra sleep—or at least a second cup of coffee! Also, the HS science club field trip is canceled.

Attention Glendale, Mother Nature has decided to join the drama club, and today's performance will be "Frozen." We're ending the school day early today, Jan 16, 2025, to let everyone get home safely before the encore. H.S Dismissal will be at 11:30 & Elem. parent pick up at 11:50 / Bus dismissal at approximately 12:15

The students have the luck of the Irish. Due to the current road conditions and predicted weather for the rest of the morning, the Glendale School District is closed today.

As we keep a close eye on the weather for tomorrow, we want to remind everyone that Mother Nature can be as unpredictable as the score of the Notre Dame vs. Penn State football game. We will start with a 2 hour delay on Monday, January 6, 2025. Please be prepared for a closure.

Please see the attached letter from Mr. Kozak regarding potential FID days in the High School.

I hope all of our Glendale students, families, and staff enjoyed a wonderful Christmas surrounded with family and friends. As we look ahead to a brand-new year, we are excited to continue working together to achieve great things. Let’s embrace the opportunities and challenges of the year to come with enthusiasm, positivity, and a commitment to success. Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year!

Glendale made history this year! This is the 1st time in history Glendale has participated in Penn Dot's Paint the Plow Program. We were previously the only school in Cambria County, District 9, that did not participate. Ms. Poole, with the help of the elementary students, created a snow plow with Penn Dot's theme of "Use your reason, when it's freezing". Since it was created by elementary students we were not in the division that was judged, but we made 1st Honorable Mention.
